Cherish is a friendship-tracking app that stores everything locally on your device. We don’t have a server. We don’t collect, see, or sell your data. We don’t track you. We don’t show ads.
This privacy policy explains what that means in detail.
None that leaves your phone.
When you use Cherish, you create:
All of this data is stored on your iPhone using iOS’s local storage (AsyncStorage and the app’s documents directory). It is never sent to a server we control. We do not have a server. We have no way to see, retrieve, or modify your data.
Cherish lets you add photos to friend profiles. These photos are stored locally on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere.
Cherish schedules notifications locally on your device using iOS notification APIs. Notifications are scheduled and delivered by your iPhone itself, not by us. We don’t see when or whether your notifications fire.
Cherish lets you add a location to events using Google Places autocomplete. Your search queries go to Google’s Places API to fetch suggestions. We do not store, log, or see these queries. We do not track your location.
If you tap a location to open it in Google Maps, that’s a normal link that opens Maps — we don’t intercept or log it.
Cherish writes a backup file to your device’s documents folder. If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPhone (most users do), this file is included in your iCloud backup so your data survives restoring to a new phone. The backup goes from your phone to your iCloud account directly — we never see it.
You can also manually export your data as a JSON file from Settings → Your data. That file goes wherever you choose to save it (Files, email, etc.) — we never see it.
Cherish uses:
We have no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting that contains personal data, no third-party trackers.
We receive nothing. Cherish does not phone home. There is no account system. We don’t have your email, your name, your data, or anything else.
Cherish is rated 4+ but is not specifically directed at children under 13. Since we do not collect any personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect information from children either.
If we add cloud sync, accounts, or any data collection in future versions, this privacy policy will be updated and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes will be communicated through the App Store listing.
